Do you have swagger?

Tiffany Eckhardt, Certified Life Coach helping midlife women create swagger

You may be good at beating yourself up for eating the third piece of pizza or forgetting an important zoom call, but hardly ever give yourself credit for the twenty years you spent raising competent children who are now making their way in the world.  So, learning to possess swagger will take some practice.

Fail Friday

I brought up bragging during my Fail Friday on May 7th.  I shared a three-step daily practice that includes bragging, gratitude and desire.  Focusing on the “trinity” thoughts daily will drastically improve your midlife wellness awakening.

First of all, I believe failure has an important place in your growth.  My weekly Facebook Live called Fail Friday is designed to highlight failure and give examples of people who use their failure as stepping stones to success.

Sara Blakely is a great example of the importance of acknowledging failure.  Her Dad set her up to embrace failure by insisting on a nightly tradition of sharing failures at the dinner table.

When it comes to failure, I definitely have swagger.  Unfortunately, it is rare that I’ll boast about a success.  Why is that?

Focus

What ever your mind focuses on you will attract in your life.  It is easier to focus on problems to be solved than to celebrate a success.  So how do we switch our focus to swagger?

To redirect focus, stop yourself with the statement, “NOW I know what I don’t want.”  Then ask yourself, “What do I REALLY want?”

For example, you notice that you really don’t like feeling out of control when you’ve had the third glass of wine.  The next morning you get up not feeling yourself and start beating yourself up for that third glass.  Stop beating yourself up and proclaim, “NOW I know what I don’t want.”  Then ask yourself, “What do I REALLY want?”

The Swagger Practice

You may have more of what you don’t want stored in your subconscious.  You simply need to deposit more swagger into the story you rehearse in your mind.

Dr. Northrup shares in her book Goddesses Never Age a daily practice of bragging, gratitude and desire  “I think it is fantastic for bringing perspective to your daily experiences and remembering how challenges set you up to more deeply appreciate blessings.  Doing this exercise will help you remember how important it is to enjoy life instead of getting through a To Do list.’

So SWAGGER!

  1. Think of something to brag about.  It doesn’t have to be earth shattering, just a thought you can be proud of.  You don’t have to share it publicly, but definitely record it in a journal to look back on.
  2. Identify something you can be grateful for.  This is different from a brag.  What blessing in your life fills your heart with joy?
  3. What do you desire?  This should be out of reach.  If money or time were not an object, what would you want?

I LOVE the idea off doing this daily activity with your wingwomen.  It will uplift your tribe and encourage swagger.

Swagger takes practice

You can attain a life your proud of and enjoy getting out of bed for.  If the idea of creating daily swagger is resonating with you, I’d love to help.  I can help you sort through the thoughts that are keeping you stuck.

Funky Lockdown

Tiffany Eckhardt, Life Coach Creating YOUR vision for midlife wellness. Helping you get out of a lockdown funk.

Funky Lockdown ~ Getting out of a funk!

Have you found yourself in a lockdown funk?  In your attempt to NOT shut down during lockdown you managed media input and discovered new things about yourself, but your limits have been severely tested.  So, you spend a day in a funk allowing the feelings to well up.

Is this your story?  It was mine last Friday.

I had a low energy day after receiving news that our trip to Ohio would be postponed again because the stay at home order for Ohio was extended through the end of May.  I won’t tell you what I thought about that.  Feelings of deep sadness turned to anger as the day progressed.  I was in a funk.

It is healthy to fully experience all the feels and then release them.  It is detrimental to stuff emotions.  I love Dr. Christiane Norhrup’s take on feelings…

“The crying will stop when it needs to stop.  I have the strength to tolerate my strong emotions.”  Dr. Northrup

Do you believe in coincidences?

In the book, Goddesses Never Age, Dr. Christiane Northrup, M.D. speaks to my soul!  It is no coincidence that this week my friend Dawn and I happen to be reading Chapter 2: Goddesses Know The Power Of Pleasure.

By Friday evening I knew that I needed to get out of the funk!  It simply is not good for my sense of well being.  Luckily, I had tools!  I self coached myself and then worked on finding some much needed pleasure.

Here are three simple steps you can take to get out of a lockdown funk.

Make a list

I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, “If this isn’t nice, I don’t know what is.” ~Kurt Vonnegut

Are you aware of what brings you pleasure?

Dr. Northrup’s prescription for general health is to experience more pleasure every day.  She suggests an activity that I practice daily.  Take a minute every day to list as many joyful activities and experiences that you can.  Think big and small experiences.

This list can be helpful in getting out of a funk, and could guide you in finding what your soul longs for.  As I became more aware of what gives me pleasure (and what does not), I was surprised by what I discovered.

Phone a friend

Dr. Northrup calls these friends Wingwomen.  I love that!

Good friends will point you to a healthy mindset, while allowing you to feel your emotions.

On Friday I enlisted the help from a life coach from my certification class and my book club friend.  I also had several dear friends reach out to me for encouragement.  It felt like a lifeline.

Who are your Wingwomen?

Take action

Saturday morning I woke up with the thought, “this is a new day.”  I knew I had a choice to make it a good day or wallow in my grief.  Fortunately, Jeff was on board with a day of fun!

Saturday was a beautiful sunny day, nearly perfect with a cool breeze.  Jeff and I rode our bikes to Round Top (thirty miles round trip).  While in Round Top, we had coffee at Royers Pie Haven and ate hamburgers at Popi Burgers. During lunch we FaceTimed with our daughter and grandson (fill my cup).  We then went to Brenham to see what shops had opened.  I bought a new dress at The Canyon Chic and then visited a newly opened Brazos Valley Brewing Co that happened to have live music (heaven).  We took crawfish home for a backyard picnic.  I washed our 48 Ford Maggie and took her for a drive in the country.  After dinner I could barely keep my eyes open.  I fell into bed extremely happy.

“Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.” ~Martin Luther

Discover what fills your pleasure journal

I’m not thankful for the funk, but it did teach me the importance of the pleasure journal.  Taking a day to experience as much pleasure as possible got me out of a funk.

When you discover what fills your pleasure journal, taking action is very simple.

If you feel stuck in a funk, I can help!  I’ve been trained to identify thoughts that are creating unwanted feelings.  Curious?  I offer a free mini session.  I’d love to chat with you!

Busting Midlife Myths

Tiffany Eckhardt, Life Coach busting midlife myths

Are you ready to bust Midlife Myths?

Could it be possible that you have accepted common midlife myths as reality?

For instance, have you accepted the message that your fighting a loosing battle with age when you reach fifty years?  What if you were actually entering into the best season of your life filled with abundant wellness?

I am a cockeyed optimist who wants her tomb to read, “Here lies Tiffany Ann Eckhardt.  Her death found her living with uncommon energy.”

I do not subscribe to rainbows or unicorns, but have learned tools that allow me to fully function through life’s 50/50.  I am convinced it is possible to create a life that includes abundant wellness and the realization of dreams at any age.

So what gets in your way?

It occurred to me the other day that there are some common midlife myths accepted as truth.  What if they were simply not true?

What thoughts do you have about midlife and aging?  Gathering your thoughts is a perfect place to start.  I love journaling!  Take a piece of paper and jot down all the thoughts that you have about midlife.

Next, take a look at the thoughts circulating in your mind that have now landed on your paper.  Do you like the thoughts? Is it possible that there are limiting beliefs?  Where have these thought and ideas come from?

It is widely believed that our bodies are not separated from our thoughts or emotions.  This is why I preach Self-Aware is the first step to Self-Care.  It is time to let go of toxic beliefs.  Then frame, or reframe, what your idea of midlife is and create it!

A few midlife myths worth busting

1.  Midlife means the beginning of a loosing battle with well being.

In her book Goddesses Never Age, Christiane Northrup, M.D. confirms, “physical deterioration occurs in large part because of the accumulation of toxins, which results in cellular deterioration and damage along with tissue and organ breakdown.”

Yet, she also offers that the body is in a constant state of reinvention.  “You do not have to have the same physical body you had just a few years ago.  Every cell has been replaced.”

I am living proof of this!  In 2017 I decided to question the idea that our bodies have to fall apart in midlife.  I spent three years removing toxins from my diet and home.  In November 2018 I became intentional about personal growth, learning tools to manage my mind. Thanks to this work, I am not the same person I was back then.

You can achieve wellness at any age, that can carry you into the best season of your life!

2.  An empty nest is boring and lonely

I heard someone say in passing, “An empty nest isn’t lonely because I am there.”

Typically women spend there lives between 20 and 40 tending to their families.  Without giving it a second thought, their schedule is dictated by work and family.  When their little birdies fly the coop, there is naturally a void to fill.

Although change is rarely popular, a new routine emerges from the quiet house.  At this point in life, you are ready to make decisions about what your future will look like?

Unfortunately, “we believe that if something great was going to happen, it would have happened when we were 20 or 30, right? It would have happened when we were in college or when we were going to school or whatever. That’s when all the amazing things happen. But what if we’re totally wrong about that?”  ~Brooke Castillo

I guarantee there are several ways to look at an empty nest.  What if you discover that you really enjoy your own company and that you are actually fun?

3.  Time is running out with little options

The ideas that time is running out and that there are few options to those who are of a certain age are two myths that are definably limiting beliefs, in which the focus is on what can’t be done.

I intend to bust these two myths wide open!!!!  There have been too many examples of successful people who achieved greatness after the age of 40.  Success leaves clues.  Studying their stories encourages me to explore my own.

Does the cost of learning new skills feels indulgent?  This might be the real obstacle to busting theses myths.  It feels too indulgent to shift the time, the resources, to something that’s purely for you. I hear people comment that they hesitated taking a course if it cost a few thousand dollars.  They have never given themselves permission to spend on themselves, let alone challenge themselves to expand their minds.

Time will run out if you indulge in self depravation.  Midlife is the time to invest in childhood dreams, ideas that have took a back seat to the demands of family and what your soul longs to teach you.

The Crossroads

I am sure you have heard or even thought of a few midlife myths of your own.  Maybe you are manifesting some of your beliefs, and want to pluck out them out of your story!

Are you at the crossroads, at a point in life when you are ready to make decisions about what your future will look like?

This is where I can help!  Not only have I mastered the fine art of reinvention, I am a certified life coach that can help you bust the myths.

A Wellness Awakening

My Wellness Awakening

I experienced a Wellness Awakening in January 2017, after a horrible hysterectomy that haunts me to this day.  It was a wake up call.  I began researching how to create my own wellness practices.

For three years I explored natural remedies, the power of the mind, and learning how to move my body to stay well.  I don’t live in fear of illness because I am proactive with wellness!

Grateful for my personal wellness journey, I went from a total lack of hope in 2017 to empowered freedom that has served me well during the 2020 lockdown.

Have you experienced an awakening during lockdown?

Have you taken inventory on what you hold as essential during this time of isolation?  What is on your list?  Here are a few of mine….

Hugging loved ones is at the top of my list!  Funny, because I’ve never been a touchy-feely type person, at least not in public.

Freedom to go about a “normal” life!  Movies, restaurants, coffee shops, trips to the beach, having a party, going to hear live music, etc.

Spreading the truth about wellness!  It is essential that I share the freedom of a managed mind, eating well and a body in motion with everyone.

We only control a few things….

The truth is we control very few circumstances.  Lockdown has driven this truth home to me.

A friend of mine shared an article with me that rocked my lockdown world.  Patience during a pandemic: What we can learn from a POW and a Roman slave-turned-philosopher

This article reminded me that the human spirit has the power to overcome the darkest, worst side of humanity.  And that people really do have the ability to write their own story, even when freedom is stripped.

A tug of war between what is inside and outside of control

In the article, Sara Israelsen-Hartley describes The Stockdale Paradox. James Stockdale, a Vietnam vet, survived 7.5 years as a prisoner in Hanoi Hilton.  “Stockdale’s approach was to come up with a way of actually functioning in the circumstances in which he found himself so he could deal with that day in, day out, for as long as it went on.”  Israelsen-Hartley goes on to explain how Stockdale survived using the Stoic philosophy of compartmentalizing what can be controlled and what can not be controlled.

“In the 30 seconds before he landed and was pounced on by more than a dozen waiting Vietnamese soldiers, Stockdale accepted that soon nearly everything would be outside of his control — even his own body.

But his opinions, judgments and attitude, his grief and joy? Those feelings and emotions were entirely within his control.”

There is hope in an Awakening

So, what can you control?  Your mind.  Your wellness.

I want you to be empowered by this!  Your mind is in your control, therefore wellness is within your control.  Simply put, you can be proactive instead of reactive.

While freedoms have been surgically removed by a mysterious virus, people all over the globe are awakening to the importance of health and wellbeing.

“Your thoughts and beliefs are the single most important indicator of your state of health.”  Dr. Christiane Northrup, M.D.  (From her book Goddesses Never Age)

It is science!  “Studies by researchers such as Richard Davidson of the University of Wisconsin show that mindfulness practices rewire the brain, resulting in greater immunity and improved ability to manage stress and emotions.”  Dr. Chistiane Northrup, M.D. (Goddess Never Age)

Has the COVID-19 been a wake up call for you?

Self-aware is the first step in self-care.  Let self awareness empower you to create an audacious wellness practice!

Instead of waiting for a health crisis, why not live a lifestyle that prevents it in the first place?  Awaken to the idea that you can control your state of wellbeing.  You have choices.  You can decide to be well.

Maybe you have never took time to think about your wellbeing.  Time is definitely a commodity that is abundant during lockdown.  Lockdown is giving you time to awaken to the idea of audacious wellness!

Now is the perfect time to create daily wellness practices and strategies to get through the pandemic for however long as it lasts.  A life of Awakened Wellness can be yours!

And the birds fluttered around her writing “YES” in the sky!

The practice of audacious wellness. Five steps to be well.

Life coach Tiffany Eckhardt, works with women who practice audacious wellness.

My audacious wellness practice

My practice of audacious wellness began in January 2017, after a horrible hysterectomy that haunts me to this day.  I promised myself that I would do everything in my power to never have another surgery, which inspired my research on creating my own wellness practices.

I do not have a degree in medicine or nutrition, but wholeheartedly believe in the power of my mind to find solutions through books, podcasts and YouTube videos from people who hold degrees and have done case work on the subject. Finally, I do my own experiments on what I learn.  This led to my dairy allergy discovery, explaining my constant break outs.

Although rare and not covered by insurance, there are doctors willing to create a personalized approach to wellness, before there is a health crisis.

Will you be the hero of your own story

A highly functioning immune system

Our bodies naturally fight off infection through the immune system.  In fact, our bodies are always working on our behalf.

I can honestly say that I have not been sick since 2017, except for the occasional self-induced hang over, which rarely happens now that I manage my mind.  I’ve learned to listen to my body and be proactive.  It would be naive to think that I’ll never get sick.  The idea is to provide my body resources to fight off any attack through a strengthened immune system.

The human body is fascinating and should be addressed as a whole, and on an individual basis.  I don’t subscribe to a one size fits all approach to wellness.  I believe one hundred percent in taking personal responsibility through managing the mind, choosing what you put in and on your body, and evaluating the products you allow in your home.

If all this feels overwhelming, let me offer you five common sense steps to practice audacious wellness.  You will be surprised to learn most are free and easy.

1.Thought work

Self-aware is the first step to self-care.

An important step to making any change in your life is thought work.  Journaling is free and easy

Regularly do a “thought download” and observe your thoughts. What do you believe about wellness? What do you want for your body and mind? Why do you believe certain thoughts about wellness?  Do you like your reasons?

Just as people might discover limiting beliefs concerning money, it is possible that you will discover limiting wellness beliefs.  Get curious about what you believe regarding your health and wellness.

“It’s time to remind ourselves that today’s thoughts and actions become our legacy.” ~ Brendan Burchard

Can you imagine a life practicing audacious wellness?

2. Food is medicine!

This is not a revolutionary idea.  My favorite author on this subject is Dr. Axe.  His book Eat Dirt was the first book I read on the subject.

Unfortunately our society has lost this awareness.  Replacing immunity boosting foods with fast and fake food.  A recent trip to Walmart highlighted this reality for me.  People were standing in line for an empty toilet paper isle, but the fruits and veggies isles were fully stocked.

I highly recommend a YouTube search of Dr. Axe’s videos.  He is a wealth of FREE information!

3. Vitamins found in natural places boost the immune system

Foods rich in Vitamin A help boost the immune system.  Choose mangos, grapefruit, dark leafy veggies, salmon, ect.  A quick google search will give you more ideas

Vitamin D has the power to destroy viruses, bacterial and fungi.  Experts suggest that the best way to get vitamin D is to be outside midday and soak in the sunshine.  This is especially important for office workers who have very little sun exposure.  Thank God sitting in sunshine is a free and easy step towards wellness.

Vitamins are proven safe. If you want an in-depth lecture on the subject, tune into Dr. Shiva, an MIT Biologist PhD who studies epigenetics and systems biology.  He has several video lectures on how your immune system works and the benefits of Vitamin A and Vitamin D3.

4. Exercise

Can anyone disagree that exercise is important?

I did extensive thought work to embrace exercise.  My “story” was that I hated exercise and did not have a body built for it.  Looking back, that thought is funny.  I’m thankful to my past self for taking the first step past resistance.

Here’s how my thoughts gradually changed:

“it is possible for me to exercise.”

“it is possible for me to like exercising.”

“I enjoy an increase in energy and the satisfaction of offering myself self care!”

Make a decision to pursue physical activity and don’t negotiate with yourself.

Start small.  Walk.  Get outside and walk your neighborhood, a free and easy step in the right direction.  Find community to exercise with.  It is always fun to do it with friends.

5. Breathe & meditate

Feelings are vibrations (energy) experienced from a thought.  Habitual thoughts create the story of our lives, which produces the environment for either wellbeing or an weakened immune system.

Breathing is a form of renewal, breaking the cycle of resistance.

Test this out.  Think thoughts that upset you in the moment.  Where do you feel it in your body?  Now think happy thoughts.  How is the experience of joy different from anger?

It is unrealistic to believe there will never be uncomfortable thoughts.  Anger and upset increase the fight or flight response.  Breathing can calm the response and allow space to create better quality thoughts.

Taking time to breathe and meditate is a free and easy step that allows for the creative juices to flow.  It really is good medicine!

Where to start

Self-aware is the first step in self-care.

“Our problem as humans isn’t that we are inadequate, wrong, or broken: our problem is that we believe we are.”  Dr. Sue Morter

This list of five common sense steps to practice audacious wellness is by no way exhaustive.  Can you get curious about your own wellness and research ways to take responsibility?

There is not a one size fits all approach to wellness or to addressing a weakened immune system.  I believe with the abundance of scientific information available, it is possible to understand your own body and find both preventions and solutions.

Do you practice audacious wellness?

Wouldn’t you love to be the hero of your own wellness journey?

Are You Living A Life Of Creative Abundance?

Is your goal to live a life of creative abundance?  Do you want to take creative control of your life?  I believe it’s worth taking the leap!

I admire people who ooze creativity.  It always appears to be effortless, natural, like they just ARE creative.  I’m learning that is not exactly the case.

In Elizabeth Gilbert’s book Big Magic, she refers to ideas and creativity as mystics that come to you and offer the idea.  It is your job to say yes or no to the idea, understanding there will be a few “shit sandwiches” on the menu. In fact, according to Gilbert the reason we don’t move creatively ahead is always and only fear.

“Creative living is living a life that is driven more strongly by curiosity than fear.” ~Liz

A poet that Gilbert became intrigued with, once told a literature student, “Do you have the courage?  Do you have the courage to bring forth this work?  The treasures that are hidden inside you are hoping you will say YES!”

Do YOU invest for abundance?

I wholeheartedly support Elizabeth Gilbert’s theory that creativity is an energy that chooses us to co-create with.  Cuz it’s the TRUTH!  It is a gift from God.

I’ve been mulling over a familiar Bible story in the book of Mathew.  As the story goes, a boss man (my words not the Bible’s) went out of town and left his servants in charge.  He gave “talents” to each according to their ability.  The first servant he gave five talents to invest, to the second servant he gave two talents to invest and to the third servant he gave one talent to invest. When the boss returned he found the first two servants had double their talents.  The third servant buried his talents because he feared loosing the one talent he had.

Impressed, the boss commended the first two servants with, “Well done, good and faithful servant!  You have been faithful with few things; I will put you in charge of many things.  Come and share in my happiness!”  The boss reprimanded the third servant with, “You wicked, lazy servant… you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.”

The good and faithful servants will be given more talents to work with, while the third servant will be passed over next time the talents are divvied out.

A verse on abundance: Mathew 25: 29

For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have abundance.

I am not a Bible scholar.  I simply love that Jesus encourages people to invest their talents. He fully understands the fear and risks involved, as well as the abundance rewarded to the courageous.

It appears that the story is about a dude with a lot of money, entrusting his wealth to his servants.  I view this familiar parable as an example of our benevolent creator continually entrusting gifts and talents to humanity, taking delight in what is created with the gifts.

When we are willing to invest, share and ship our talents, the talents multiple.  I wholeheartedly believe in abundance.  It is up to all of us to get curious about what we have to offer, develop our talents and be willing to share them.

Sign me up for abundance!

I am pursuing a creative life.  Abundance is directly related to my willingness to invest in my gifts. I hope the gifts I share inspire and encourage you as well, but most importantly are a gift back to my creator.

The creative life isn’t effortless.  A meaningful, creative life that gives back requires courage.  The courageous receive abundance.

Fear is lazy.  I refuse to bury my talents or play small and will have the courage to continue to grow, and to keep moving towards becoming the best version of myself, feeling the vibration of fear, knowing it will pass.

Are you curious?

I invite you to get curious about your talents.  Have you given into fear and succumbed to living a small life?  Or are you looking for ideas to invest your talents?

As Jack Gilbert put it, “The treasures that are hidden inside you are hoping you will say YES!”

I would love to connect with all you badass women who are ready to take creative control of your life!  Let’s shake up this world with our abundant talents!!!!

Lessons from an inspiring walk in the woods… becoming the person in the commemorative stone.

Create the life of your dreams... hire Tiffany Eckhardt, Life Coach to help you BE the person of your dreams

It was an ideal fall day in the southern hills of Ohio, perfect weather for an inspiring hike in the woods.  My parents and I wanted to enjoy nature before the weather turned wet and blustery the next day.  They took me to a park I had not visited yet, knowing I’d love it.

The beautiful park made my heart happy! The grounds had been lovingly developed and maintained by naturalists. A community lodge reflected in a picture perfect pond surrounded by large mature trees.  The trails had a colorful blanket of freshly fallen leaves and smelled heavenly! I was already inspired.

As we walked from the parking lot to the park entrance, a commemorative stone honoring a local naturalist caught me eye.  The first sentence stopped me in my tracks.

What will you be known for? Hire Tiffany Eckhardt, Life Coach to create the life of your dreams

“Charles R. Goslin. A man of uncommon energy, knowledge and remarkable accomplishments…”

Charles had uncommon energy.

Heck, I want to be know for uncommon energy!  I was not even aware that uncommon energy was a cool attribute until I read Charles’ commemorative stone.  How do I cultivate that?

I currently practice a daily habit of journaling a list of who I want to BE in the form of affirmations:  I am a supportive wife.  I am a loving mother, daughter, sister and FANCY (aka grandma).  I am a loyal friend.  I am a life coach to women who want to create their best life.  Recently I added attributes I want to cultivate in 2020: tenacious, gritty, genuine, creative, connected and courageous.

Now I MUST add uncommon energy to my list!

What will your commemorative Stone Read?

Your best life is created with intentional habits and clarity of purpose. Goals are not the end game… it is the person YOU become in accomplishing the goals. It is the “commemorative stone” that makes us FEEL fulfilled.

To get started, ask yourself the following questions….

1.What do YOU want to BE known for?

2. What were YOU known for in 2019?  Would you change anything?

3. What do YOU want to be known for in 2020?  Why?  Do you like your reasons?

NOW develop a list of attributes YOU want to cultivate in becoming the person of your dreams. Journal these attributes in the form of affirmations daily. “I am….” Writing them down daily as a reminder of how you want to show up in life is the secret sauce in becoming the person of your dreams!

So… What will YOUR commemorative stone read???? Who do YOU want to become in reaching your goals?

Let me help you

I’d like to offer a caveat: it is not possible to control what other people think of you.  The most important thing is what YOU think of yourself.  The most amazing thing you can do for your future dream self is to cultivate the attributes you want to be known for.  Your future self will be grateful for whom you decide to BECOME today.

I am currently working with women who want to create their best life in 2020.  I’ve already helped several women set a goal to jump start their decade.  I promise YOU, it is so worth the time and investment.

I am offering a FREE goal session to anyone who commits to a 6 month coaching package to kick start their new decade. A goal session is a $150 value! PLUS… committing to a 6 months package saves you $200 off the cost of monthly coaching! SAVING $350 IN TOTAL (packages must be purchased in the month of December 2019). Email me for details!

Save money and become the person of YOUR dreams… write your own commemorative stone! It will be the best gift you give yourself this holiday season!

Entrepreneurial Journey to the right side of wellness

Flown The Coop's Tiffany Eckhardt taking flight as an entrepreneur

My entrepreneurial journey has had many twists and turns.  The latest adjustment is a hard for me, but I am confident it will be WELL!  😉

The Story Of A Serial Entrepreneur

Tiffany Eckhardt with Flown The Coop is a self proclaimed serial entrepreneur

I am a self proclaimed Serial Entrepreneur, tenacious in attempting business ventures and gravitate towards the under dog.  I wholeheartedly believe in the American Dream.  I believe that a life worth living is not handed to you, but is earned by hard work and dedication to a dream.  I also believe everyone would own their own business if it were easy.  Despite the changes I’ve had to face, I prefer to create a life on my own terms.

As you can see from the above picture… I’ve attempted a lot of businesses over the years.  I am blessed by the experience each venture has added to my life.  The uncomfortable truth of creating a life on your terms is that you must remain flexible and learn to adapt to changes in the market place.

Flown The Coop

I have officially closed Flown The Coop.  I’ve known in my gut that it was time for a change, but my heart didn’t want to accept it.  For four years I invested my heart and soul into my dream shop.  I loved creating a destination in this sleepy little town that begs to be discovered and LOVE all my customers who are now friends.

I could list all the reasons that Flown The Coop didn’t flourish, but I prefer to face the future with a positive attitude.  I believe that a new exciting chapter awaits.  I hope you stick with me as I embark on a new journey.

Moving forward I plan on hosting classes and special events at Flown The Coop.  Keep an eye on the Creative At The Coop webpage.  I will also focus my attention on our Guest House project.  Stayed tuned for regular updates as I share the progress.

For now, let me explain how I got to this point….

An Entrepreneur on the Right Side of the Quadrant

I am a big fan of Robert Kiyosaki’s book CASHFLOW QUADRANT.  I read his first book, Rich Dad Poor Dad when it came out twenty years ago.  Has it really been that long????

His CASHFLOW Quadrant explains my entrepreneurial journey completely.  Most of us live in the E Quadrant.  We are taught in school to be a good employees.  Some of us set out to own our own businesses.  MY EPIPHANY: As I struggle to make Flown The Coop profitable.  As much as I enjoy owning a store, I had basically bought my own JOB (Just Over Broke).  A true entrepreneur eventually understands the importance of creating residual income (or passive income).  I am now focused on the right side of the quadrant.  I highly recommend reading CASHFLOW QUADRANT.  Robert explains the concept way better than I ever could!

An entrepreneur on the right side of the quadrant

SIDE NOTE:  Jeff and I have the CASHFLOW QUADRANT board game.  Anyone interested in a game night??????  Seriously, message me!  I won for the first time during a recent family vacation.  So, I’m feeling empowered!

Business Opportunity In Wellness

I have spent the last year focused on wellness.  Jeff and I have come to the realization that we are approaching the prime years and want to enjoy them.  We want our grandkids to have to keep up with us.  Honestly, we still have work to do… but it’s a journey worth taking.

Wellness is not just ONE thing.  It’s a lifestyle.  It is learning to listen to the body, mind and spirit.  Wellness is eating whole “real” foods, staying active and getting the toxins out of the home.  Wellness is focusing on what the body needs before there is crisis.  Wellness is taking charge and living the best life possible!

I want to spend the rest of my life promoting this lifestyle.  I hope you have enjoyed traveling the world of Young Living essential oils with me, and now Scout & Cellar clean crafted wine. These two businesses have been game changers for me!

I’ll never forget when Lynsey Kramer visited me after I ordered a Young Living premium starter kit.  She had shared her lifestyle so freely on her Facebook page.  I didn’t hesitate to jump in when she shared the opportunity to purchase a starter kit.  Lynsey came to my house to help me understand what the essential oils could do for me.  In passing she mentioned that she was growing a Young Living distributorship for retirement. As small business owners, they didn’t have a traditional retirement to fall back on.  IT WAS A LIGHT BULB MOMENT.  I remember immediately thinking about the book CASHFLOW and saw a real opportunity to make a difference.

Then another opportunity presented itself.  Bethany Dwyer reached out to me, offering a Scout & Cellar wine tasting at the Flown The Coop Backyard Karaoke Bash in the spring.  Bethany is a Young Living member as well.  She mentioned that this wine company shared a similar philosophy and paired well with essential oils.  First of all, who would turn down a wine tasting opportunity?  I liked Bethany right away.  I love her boldness in reaching out to me and her tireless pursuit of many business ventures.  I asked her why she worked so hard.  Her response was another LIGHT BULB MOMENT.  She replied, “The truly wealthy people have more than one income stream.”  In April I invited her and Lacey Harwood back to Flown The Coop for the Cotton Gin festival.  I got excited watching the people try and love this wine.  I had to get involved in this opportunity too.

I truly believe that these two movements (plant based products and clean crafted wine) are the future.  This generation will demand cleaner products and are taking charge of their wellness.  I also believe there are people like me, who want to enjoy their prime years and still have the spunk to grow a business that will give them financial freedom.  They call people like me encore entrepreneurs.

I urge you to invest twenty five minutes watching this video…. while a little goofy and long winded, he totally nails retirement.  Totally worth the time!  {Here are the docs he mentions: the income disclosure statement, the comp plan and the personality colors}

This is why I am focusing the next phase of my entrepreneurial journey on wellness and the right side of the CASHFLOW quadrant.

Flown The Coop will become my creative outlet for prime lifestyle, wellness and wine.

SO…. stayed tuned.  I’m looking for people to join my team.  Reach out if you are a kindred spirit (a serial entrepreneur) who wants to build a thriving business in Young Living or Scout & Cellar.  I would also love to chat with anyone who simply wants to take charge of their wellness.  I’d love to help in anyway I can!

Life is a journey, come travel with me!
