Restoring Cherished Relationships

Tiffany Eckhardt, certified life coach and master of reinvention, shares her journey to restoring cherished reltionships

If you are like me, you have way too much invested in your family and cherished relationships to walk away in defeat, but you also don’t want to waste another day feeling frustrated or unimportant.

You’re not sure how to restore what is broken, but something has to give!

Jeff and I found ourselves in a great divide in 2021, where something had to give.  On the outside we were a cute couple, never really talking shit about each other to our friends and family.  Unfortunately, there were two very important issues that had us in complete grid lock.  We spent the majority of our time together fighting and very close to the dreaded D word, divorce.

Without going into details, I can tell you that I know what it is like to feel disposable, unheard, sad, lonely and in despair.  Jeff felt unappreciated, blamed as the source of all issues and frustrated because he couldn’t fix them.

Could it really be over, or was there a chance we could find real solutions to our grid lock?  Honestly, it didn’t look good for months.

Help in restoring

Not so much a turning point, but a last ditch effort.  We agreed to hire a couple’s coach.

Thank God for Jill who spent 3 months helping us communicate, solving grid lock and giving us hope for the future.  Most of all, we learned to listen to each other without defensiveness.

Another profound shift in me happened during this time.  I began to restore my relationship with myself.

Cherished

When you are upset about what is being said (or implied) about you in the heat of an argument, good chance you’ll fear it is true.

After 3 decades together, Jeff and I knew how to push each other’s buttons. He knew exactly what to say to shut me down. We learned to pause when we felt flooded from a heated conversation. For me, that gave me time to think about what I believed. Was what he was saying really true? Did I believe that about myself?

Once you establish what you believe about yourself, it really doesn’t matter what the opinions of others are. You take back your power.

If I could go back in time with what I know now, I would spend everyday reinforcing what I believe about myself and truly enjoying my own company.

The relationship with yourself is cherished.

Life giving or life sucking relationships?

Many of my clients are stuck in life sucking relationships, but are in fear of being rejected if they ask for what they really want.  Or even worse, many women don’t even know what they want.

Jeff and I are proof that you can break the patterns that keep you in grid lock.

You are not alone.  So, please break free from the isolation of shame and guilt.

You can truly understand your relationships and be understood.

It is possible to restore your cherished relationships from life sucking to life giving.

What is possible

Do you know what is possible?  Who taught you?

On December 17th 2019 I recorded a Facebook Live that showed up in my memories this week.  Watching this video reminded me that it was Mister Rogers who taught me to believe in possibilities.

Read all the way to the end to learn how committed I am to YOUR possibilities!

His influence on possibilities

Jeff and I had just went to see the long awaited movie A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood.  I have fond memories of watching Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood as a child and was looking forward to learning more about the man.

I took for granted the role Mister Rogers had in my formative years.  He taught children that they were in control of their thoughts and feelings, and that anything is possible.

I have always believed in my capacity of creating life on my own terms.  Maybe Mister Rogers put that thought into my head.

In my blog article, His influence on possibilities, I wondered what I once believed possible as a child.  What did YOU believe was possible as a child?

What if you dared to dream with the innocence of a five year old, AND with the inner strength of the woman you’ve become?

Don’t give up

Mister Rogers never gave up on his personal quest to help children believe in the importance of their thoughts and feelings.

“It would not be easy, No – for in order to win such a battle, he would have to forbid himself the privilege of stopping, and whatever he did right he would have to repeat, as though were already living in eternity.”  Tom Junod

What will YOU believe is possible for 2022 if you don’t give up?

We are all connected

“The connections we make in the course of a life—maybe that’s what heaven is, Tom. We make so many connections here on earth. Look at us—I’ve just met you, but I’m investing in who you are and who you will be, and I can’t help it.”  Mister Rogers

I’m so glad we are connected.  I want to take this opportunity to thank YOU for following my journey for the past two years.  I hope you have been inspired along the way to believe in your potential.

If YOU are new to Flown The Coop…WELCOME!

My heart is in serving YOU in 2022!  Like Mr. Rogers…I’m investing in who you are and who you will be, and I can’t help it.

To celebrate Christmas I am giving 10 women a copy of my journal, Four Stages of Reinvention with four free coaching sessions.  I want YOU to start 2022 believing in your possibilities.

The first 10 women to email me their address with the subject line “I believe in possibilities” will get their copy in the mail the first week of January.  eckhardt.tiffany@gmail.com
