Unabashedly Love Your Life

Do you unabashedly love your life? Do you want to? Tiffany Eckhardt, Certified Life Coach helps midlife women fall in love with their lives and believe their best years are ahead.

Do you love your life?  I mean truly, deeply, unabashedly LOVE your life?

Do you want to?

Reality

No doubt you grew up with a certain amount of programing.

Never before in history has society been so overwhelmed with messages.  Clever commercials convince you to buy products for problems you didn’t realize you had.

Scrolling through picture perfect lives portrayed on social media often leaves you feeling like you’re in an impossible popularity contest.

School teaches students there is only one answer, the correct one.

Family members unintentionally project their expectations on you.

From all that, you probably have scripted yourself in a story that does not serve your soul, who you were created to be.  Keeping up a façade might even create a sense of lack and feelings of sadness, loneliness or despair.

I sure don’t want to add to that “reality.”

How I fell deeply in love with my life

I am a cockeyed optimist with uncommon energy.  This is NOT my natural state, but one I am cultivating.  I choose to BE.

I came across some vision boards I created years ago.  It was so fun to see what dreams I was able to realize.  Jeff and I have traveled to dreamy places, renovated historic homes and lived a somewhat intentional life.

In recent years I switched my vision boards to Pinterest.  I started to pick a word for the year and pin images that helped me focus on the attribute I was cultivating.  I love scrolling through the boards from past years where I focused on living with joy, living wholeheartedly, being fierce and resilient.

For some reason I didn’t choose a word for 2020.  I decided to be future focused and start loving the woman I am becoming.  Wow!  I had no idea where this journey would take me.

The most impactful creative project

Yes, I am a personal growth junkie.  I devour books on the subject and chose a profession that helps others with their personal development.  It’s my life’s work.

So when I discover an incredibly impactful exercise, I just had to share it with you!

The idea came from Dr. Joe Dispenza’s book Becoming Supernatural.  He teaches that you can use the same suggestive messaging that marketers use to actually program your subconscious to believe in a future that is created by you.  You create a commercial for your future self that you’ll watch in the morning and in the evening before you go to bed, the times of the day you are the most suggestible.

I highly recommend reading the book to learn and understand the science behind this concept!  He also adds a Kaleidoscope Meditation to the daily practice.  It’s worth learning about!

Dr. Joe Dispenza promotes a couple who came up with the idea for a visualizing video and their business Mind Movies.  You can download their app and create your own, or create one from a computer program like iMovie.

Your movie is a focus board on steroids, combining images with affirmations and heart moving music!  I call mine a Vision Video.

How to create your Vision Video

First you need to make a list of what you’d like to create in the future.  This might take a couple days.  Really put some thought in it.  This is NOT a time to think small!  Dream big.

Then you will need to think about who you need to BE in order to create your future self.  You will turn this list into affirmations that you will add to the images in your video.

And finally you’ll need to pick the music.  Dr. Dispenza calls this the soundtrack of your life.  Remember, you will be watching this video twice a day.  Make sure you love the music!

I can help you through the process if it feels overwhelming.  Reach out to me for a FREE mini session {link below}

What I learned about my future

I knew this creative project would be easy for me.  I journal everyday and am crystal clear on my dreams.  What I didn’t realize was how my heart would be affected.

It was fun to gather pictures from my past, Pinterest boards and search for ones that would fit.  As I was going through my pictures I realized that above any achievement or material gain, my family and relationships were most important to me.

I have to admit that I cried after I finished editing my video and can honestly say that I am in love with my life.  I love who I’ve been, who I am and my future self… all at the same time.

I can see how my heart, mind and soul will be more connected to my life intentionally the more I watch this video.  I also see that over time I will need to edit the video, and that’s ok too.

Here’s my current Vision Video:

Social Purpose

Commitment to A Kindred Tribe

From the very beginning, Flown The Coop has been committed to dreamers, doers, makers and believers in the American Dream.  As much as possible, I fill The Coop with locally made products and curate items that are created by entrepreneurs I personally know.  I love to be surrounded by a kindred tribe of creatives.  I will always look for ways to cross promote entrepreneurs.

This year I added a line of sassy socks by Blue Q, a company that donates 1% of sock sales to Doctor’s Without Borders.  As customers read the witty sayings on these socks, The Coop is invariably filled with contagious giggles!  Purchasing these socks are not only fun, but also allows customers a  feels good to be helping a worthy cause.

It just feels good!

Commitment to Community

This year my attention is turned to another “social purpose.”  In addition to our commitment to a Kindred Tribe, Flown The Coop will align with a cause (or ministry) in 2017.  Honestly, I didn’t have to look far to find a worthy cause to support.  Burton is blessed with the Burton Bridge Ministry, a ministry that is having a BIG impact on Burton.

The Burton Bridge Ministry was founded in 2010, when all 12 churches in and around Burton decided to combine outreach efforts and form a separate non-profit organization. They believe that, working together, they can make the community a powerful example of what it looks like when one town commits to truly living out the Christian discipleship, loving our neighbors as we love ourselves.  Check them out!  I promise you’ll be impressed with the scope of their impact on Burton.

There are five ministry teams within The Bridge.

  • Seniors Ministry
  • Children and Youth Ministry
  • Helping Hands Ministry
  • Community Ministry
  • Corner Shoppe Ministry

Starting this January (2017), ten cents for every dollar spent at The Coop will be donated to The Burton Bridge Ministry.  On top of that, I am committed to dive into all the different ministry teams.  I want to look at ways that I can use my gifts to benefit their outreach.  Stayed tuned!  I hope to blog about what I learn, introducing you to Burton’s finest.

It just feels good!

Ha!  I’ve always felt rather small in the big picture, but its never stop me from dreaming BIG.  In fact, I believe great accomplishments are realized when we offer our gifts and talents to the greater good.  I’m looking forward to fiercely go forward in 2017 contributing in my small way to Burton and a Kindred Tribe.

BTW:  2017 will be the year to be FIERCE!  Stayed tuned for more on that topic.  🙂

As always, I’d love to hear from you.  What is on your heart for 2017?  What is your mantra for the year?  Let’s make 2017 a year to be proud of and encourage each other.

The rising tide lifts ALL the boats.  🙂  ~JFK
