Who are you if you ditch the titles?

Tiffany Eckhardt, master of reinvention helping woman rise above their midlife BS

Ditch the titles

When asked to introduce yourself, do you feel the need to recite an well rehearsed elevator speach?  Midlife seems to be the perfect season to ditch the titles.  However, deciding on an introduction that really captures who you’ve become is not that easy.

Here’s how I’d like to introduce myself:

Hi I’m Tiffany.  I like to think I have a sparkle and a great smile, and am most found of my indomitable spirit and fierce independence.  My heart swells when my grandkids giggle, reminding me to lighten up and enjoy life.  I have a gift of hospitality and enjoy creating beautiful spaces, both in my home and garden.  Preferring a natural lifestyle, I am curious about how nature provides for us.  Currently I am creating journals for women to rise above the BS, navigate change and live extraordinary lives.

I haven’t muster the courage to use a lengthy explanation of who I am.  People expect to hear what I DO, not an explanation of WHO I am, especially when it sounds like bragging about all the qualities I like about myself.

The Titles

It’s so much easier to use titles that are commonly recognized in introductions, which reasonably define you, until they don’t.

What actually defines you when you’ve retired your well rehearsed elevator speech?  It sucks to feel unsure of your identity as you enter an uncharted season of life.

Instead of seeing it as a predicament, you could view it as a great opportunity to create the title you want and really learn who you are.

What’s your essence?

Society loves labels and titles to categorize people.  Have you noticed?

Many of my clients are just getting to know themselves after a lifetime of service to others. They are tapping into buried interests and passions, and discovering their essence as they  redefine their life.

Wouldn’t it feel radical to ditch the titles and lead with what makes you unique?  Try it. I am…

Ask the right questions!

You may be wondering who am I now that I am free from my titles?

Well, start by identifying what you believe about yourself.  What are you proud of?  Would you change anything?  If so, forgive yourself and let it go.  Are there features of yourself you love?  What are your gifts?  What makes you feel alive?

Are there new skills you’d like to develop or natural talents you could explore? What do you consider fun?

I don’t pretend to have the answers

I’m a work in progress.  {Maybe that could be how I introduce myself}

I believe this work is vital and necessary to break free from attachments to the past.  It liberates you to blossom into the woman you long to BE.

This is your season to sparkle.  Only you can answer the question of who you are and who you will become.

I can help

I’d love to help you sort through all the questions that will lead you to discovering your perfect introduction.

I offer a FREE guide, Rise Above Your Own Midlife BS.  This guide will help you ask the right questions, identify who you want to be and stop sabotaging your best made goals for the future.

My Four Stages  Of Reinvention Journal is available on Amazon.  It sucks that change never gets easier.  Journaling is a powerful tool in connecting to your thoughts and creating a map forward.  Learning the Four Stages Of Reinvention will help you discover what phase of change your are in and build a road map for your future.  Once you’ve mastered the four stages, you’ll never waste time fighting change again.

If you are in any stage of reinvention or change, I invite you to take advantage of a free consult call by simply visiting my calendar and picking a date/time that works for you.  This will give you an opportunity to discover what midlife coaching is all about and if it’s a good fit for you.

Ditch the titles challenge

I’d love to get to know you, not your titles.  I challenge you to craft an introduction free of common titles and send me what you come up with.  It will be fun to see how creative y’all are!

Here’s to becoming who we are, not what we do!

And the birds fluttered around her writing “YES” in the sky

The First Day Of Your Life

This is the first day of your life... hire Tiffany Eckhardt, certified life coach. Tiffany helps midlife women believe their best years are ahead.

This is the first day of your life.  You hold the power to unfold your future intentionally.  Wouldn’t you rather be building a dream life than waiting to win the lottery?

Life in the rear view mirror

You and I have cast ourselves into stories, intentionally or unintentionally.  I have spent the past year building my life with purpose.  I am learning to define myself from a vision of the future, rather than memories of the past.

My old story was sad, even tragic.  I had cast myself as the failure, the girl who never measured up, who quit on my big ideas just short of the vision.  I felt like an underdog, the outcast.  Ultimately, I had the impression that I was cast into an impossible popularity contest, where the winners were all skinny, pretty, rich and smart.

These beliefs originated internally.  It didn’t take much effort to find evidence to support my beliefs.  In fact, I spent a lifetime accumulating evidence that became my familiar story.

Let that sink in.  You are living a similar story, with beliefs that simply are not true.

Reframe

The key to living a victorious life is to identify the lies and reframe them.

The lies that I internalized were crippling me.  I believed that I was unworthy, unloveable and not capable of creating wealth.  {YES… I want abundance!}

Can you imagine creating anything of value fighting these feelings?

Thank God I have the tools to systematically bust these lies.  This work is so rewarding.  I am now fully responsible for my feelings, believe that I am capable and love the woman I am becoming.  I have a clear vision of my past, present and future self.

It is possible for you to reframe the lies and fall in love with your life too!

There is a line in my Vision Video that gets me EVERY TIME…

This is the first day of my life

I’m glad I didn’t die before I met you

But now I don’t care, I could go anywhere with you

And I’d probably be happy

Here is my Vision Video that I watch on a daily basis to reframe my past self and create the future I envision.

Believe you are worthy

Do you believe you are worthy?  YOU are the only one who can determine your worth.

If you are like me, you probably spent your life looking for evidence of your worth, only to find more evidence of the story you unintentionally cast yourself in.

This is the first day of your life.  Take the first step to get to know her, the one who is happy in her own skin.  Invest in falling in love with your life.  You are worth it!

As the cliche goes, don’t die with the music still in you.  If you can’t believe in your worth for yourself, bathe yourself in this Lauren Daigle song, and just BELIEVE.

Create the evidence

Honor your future self with compassion for your past and commitment to the present.  Unfold your life intentionally be creating a vision for the future.

What exactly does that mean?

Simply ditch the old story based on your past.  When you define yourself by a vision of the future, your mind will work to provide evidence of it’s reality.  You will live to make your future self proud and start to see yourself as the hero in control of your story.

I am living proof

I’d love to help you.  I am living proof of the possibilities.

I can relate to your journey and understand the lies that cripple your story, and can assure you that an intentional future is within your grasp.  It is not only rewarding, but fun to fall in love with your life.

You might be saying to yourself, “Well, sign me up!”

If you want to fall in love with your life and create an intentional future, consider hiring me as your midlife life coach.  If your curious, but unsure, simply schedule a free consultation.  Click the link below and pick a date and time that works for you.

To offer a little nudge, for those of you who commit to three month coaching package, I will include a Vision Video creation as an added bonus.  Check out my video and the blog article I wrote about it.  My vision video has made an impact on my daily commitment to the woman I am becoming.

This is the first day of your life.  Here’s to falling in love with life!  You are worthy.  Believe it!

Four Journal Prompts That Will Propel You Past Your Resistance

Tiffany Eckhardt, certified life coach helping midlife women believe their best years are ahead. Discover her 4 favorite journal prompts and how a daily journal habit can help you create the life you desire.

Four journal prompts that will propel you past your resistance

If you want to create lasting change in your life, it is important to understand the three w’s: what, where and why.  Next to hiring a life coach, a daily journal habit is the best tool to help you get clear on what you want, where you currently are, and why you want the ideal life you envision. My four favorite journal prompts can help you past any resistance.

I have personally journaled since I was a teenager, accumulating storage tubs full of my life on pages.  There are so many incredible reasons to journal beyond getting clarity.  I love expressing gratitude, recording all my dreams and struggles, documenting family history, etc.

I believe the most important reasons for journaling are learning to manage your mind and uncovering beliefs that hold you back.

Let’s be honest

There are reasons that might hold you back from journaling.  I polled my family and friends for this article and found a few common reasons for resisting a daily journal habit.

  1. Consistency, time management, and distractions
  2. Afraid of experiencing raw feelings.
  3. My personal favorite… someone might find my journal.  Honestly, this fear has crossed my mind more than once.

These three reasons for resisting a daily journal habit are all immensely valid.  I know you are busy and feelings can be intimidating.  Let me assure you that setting time aside to become aware of your thoughts, which cause your feelings, is worth the effort.  Simply throw the journals away if you fear someone might read them once you’ve worked through your thoughts and feelings.

Journal Prompts

I hope I’ve persuaded you of the benefits of a daily journal habit, and have overcome your objections.  Now let me encourage you to get started with four of my favorite prompts.

1. The trinity thoughts

I’ll start with my favorite prompt borrowed from Dr. Christiane Northrup’s book Goddesses Never Age.  The trinity thoughts are positive memories from a day well spent and a dream for the future.  Record something to brag about yourself, something to be grateful for, and something you desire.  I use this tool to help my clients honor their past and future selfs, while living in the present.

2.   Questions are the answers

Get good at asking yourself really good questions.  As soon as you ask yourself a question, your brain will go to work to solve it.  Test this out for yourself!  I’m sure you can come up with some quality questions for yourself, but here are a few of my favorites:

What can I make better today than yesterday?

What do I love about myself?

How can I honor my body today?

How can I live my best life?

3.   Thought download

I believe journaling is the best way to manage your mind.  All my clients are encouraged to download thoughts from their mind onto a page, then step back from the pages and ask important questions like, “is that thought true?”

The key to a thought download is to not care about grammar and spelling.  It is a dump of what is circulating in your mind.  It will be messy.

Notice what you are thinking.  How does that thought make you feel?  How often do you think that thought?  Do you like these thoughts and the feelings they cause?

Wow.  Words can not explain how impactful thought downloads have become in my life.  I’ve unpacked a few limiting beliefs and thoughts that did not serve me.

4.   Write the script

Create your future self by casting her in your story and living the story through your imagination.

Use your journal to write the script. What do you want her to look like, how will she show up for life, and who will she surround herself with?  Will she bravely overcome something?  What skills does she need to cultivate?

Consider yourself studying for a part in a play.  Be her today.  Practice her role in your story.  Memorize her lines.

The brain does not know if something is “real” or not.  If you practice believing something enough, you’ll feel it before it even happens.

This is not reciting affirmations, but rather the ultimate visualization.  You will write the script in your mind and propel yourself into that story with very real feelings.

Practice a prompt

It is my hope that I have busted some of your resistance with my four favorite journal prompts.

As I always say, Self-Aware is the first step in self-care.  Pick one of the prompts and get started!

Have I given you a nudge to try this powerful practice, but you are still not confident that you will be consistent?  I can help you identify the reasons you are unable to create space for journaling.

If you are still fearful of the feelings you might uncover, consider hiring me as your life coach.  I will help you identify the thoughts that are wreaking havoc in your life.  Talking to a life coach helps you understand your human feelings in a safe space.

Reclaim Your Life 2021

Reclaim your life with Tiffany Eckhardt, Certified Life Coach helping midlife women believe their best years are ahead.

Reclaim your life for 2021! Every fall I develop a deep desire to end the year strong.  Rebooting near the end of a year eases the stress of the holidays and sets up a new year for success.  Rebooting also feels akin to reclaiming my life by refocusing on the dreams I refuse to give up on.

It is not too late to create a plan for your reboot & reclaim 2021!

Reboot

Rebooting is not just for computers, by definition a reboot is starting anew with fresh ideas in a new way.

Three years ago I joined a 90 day challenge to finish the year strong.  I created new habits that  had a lasting effect on my life.  The challenge included getting up an hour earlier, drinking half my body weight in water, committing to move everyday, eat well, and a daily gratitude journal.

Reclaim

This year I am incorporating a three step strategy that will reframe 2020, connect with the present and intentionally create a future.

I’d like YOU to join my journey to REBOOT & RECLAIM.

Three steps to reboot

Reframe

Have you ever been told to pull up your big girl panties and get over it?  Is that ever helpful?

Resisting your emotions in an attempt to “just get over it” only gives unwanted emotions more power to wreck havoc in your life.  I work with clients to process all their emotions to reframe their past.  Working through unwanted emotions empowers clients to truly live in the present and create an amazing future.

“We are all rough drafts of the people we’re becoming.” ~ Bob Goff

Reconnect

The second step is to reconnect with life in the present by becoming aware of creative energy.

Have you ever driven home from work and wondered how the heck you got home?  Similarly, have you ever reached a certain age and wondered where did all the time go?

When you are living life on autopilot you miss the mysteries of life.   I believe we are more than our bodies, or society’s programming.  We are energy, soul, mind and spirit.  In a moment of awareness, you notice whispers of creativity longing to be acknowledged.

Render

I believe your best years are ahead!  You have the power to create your future, to render your masterpiece.

The key to create your future is to get in touch with your future self.  This requires imagination.  What does she look like?  How does she spend her time?  Who is she surrounding herself with?

This is my favorite step of the Three Steps to Reboot.  I love helping my clients envision who they can become.

Join me

If you hang out with me for too long, I’ll convince you that your best years are ahead.  It is always fun to kick off a new year with kindred spirits.

First step is to schedule a FREE mini session.  We’ll discuss what you’d like to create for 2021 and how I can help you get there.

A 98.8% happier life

Tiffany Eckhardt, Certified Life Coach helping midlife women lead 98.8% happier lives. Believe your best years are ahead!

Live a 98.8% happier life!

You can live a 98.8% happier life by busting three midlife myths.

Have you accepted that at a certain age you begin to fight a loosing battle with age?  What if you were actually entering into the best season of your life?

I am a cockeyed optimist with uncommon energy.

Without subscribing to rainbows or unicorns, but have learned tools that allow me to fully function through life’s good and bad.

You can create a life that includes abundant wellness and realize dreams at any age.

Have you accepted midlife myths?

It occurred to me that there are some common midlife myths accepted as truth.  What if they were simply not true?

First, what thoughts do you actually have about midlife and aging?  Gathering your thoughts in a journal by jotting down all the thoughts that you have about midlife.

Next, take a look at the thoughts.  Do you like the thoughts? Are they true?  Where have these thought and ideas come from?

It is widely believed that our bodies are not separated from our thoughts or emotions.  This is why I preach Self-Aware is the first step to Self-Care.  It is time to let go of toxic beliefs.  Then frame, or reframe, what your idea of midlife is and create it!

Three myths to bust in order to believe your best years are ahead

1.  Midlife means the beginning of a loosing battle with well being.

In her book Goddesses Never Age, Christiane Northrup, M.D. confirms, “physical deterioration occurs in large part because of the accumulation of toxins, which results in cellular deterioration and damage along with tissue and organ breakdown.”

Yet, she also offers that the body is in a constant state of reinvention.  “You do not have to have the same physical body you had just a few years ago.  Every cell has been replaced.”

I am living proof of this!  In 2017 I decided to question the idea that our bodies have to fall apart in midlife.  I spent three years removing toxins from my diet and home.  In 2019 I learned to manage my mind. Thanks to this work, I am not the same person I was back then.

You can achieve wellness at any age.  Your best years are ahead.

2.  An empty nest is boring and lonely

An empty nest isn’t lonely because I am there.

Typically women spend there lives between 20 and 40 tending to their families.  Without giving it a second thought, their schedule is dictated by work and family.  When their little birdies fly the coop, there is naturally a void to fill.

Although change is rarely popular, a new routine emerges from the quiet house.  At this point in life, you are ready to make decisions about what your future will look like?

Unfortunately, “we believe that if something great was going to happen, it would have happened when we were 20 or 30, right? It would have happened when we were in college or when we were going to school or whatever. That’s when all the amazing things happen. But what if we’re totally wrong about that?”  ~Brooke Castillo

There are several ways to look at an empty nest.  What if you decide to enjoy your own company and believe your best years are ahead?

3.  Time is running out with little options

Why focus on what can’t be done?

I intend to bust this myth wide open!!!!  There have been too many examples of successful people who achieved greatness after the age of 40.  Success leaves clues.  Studying their stories encourages me to explore my own.

Time will run out if you indulge in self depravation.  Midlife is the time to invest in childhood dreams, ideas that have took a back seat to the demands of family and what your soul longs to teach you.

What if you made each day count and believe the best years are ahead?

The Crossroads

I am sure you’ve created a few midlife myths of your own.

Are you at the crossroads, at a point in life when you are ready to make decisions about what your future will look like?

I want to help you believe your best years are ahead!  Not only have I mastered the fine art of reinvention, I am a certified life coach that can help you bust the midlife myths.

Unabashedly Love Your Life

Do you unabashedly love your life? Do you want to? Tiffany Eckhardt, Certified Life Coach helps midlife women fall in love with their lives and believe their best years are ahead.

Do you love your life?  I mean truly, deeply, unabashedly LOVE your life?

Do you want to?

Reality

No doubt you grew up with a certain amount of programing.

Never before in history has society been so overwhelmed with messages.  Clever commercials convince you to buy products for problems you didn’t realize you had.

Scrolling through picture perfect lives portrayed on social media often leaves you feeling like you’re in an impossible popularity contest.

School teaches students there is only one answer, the correct one.

Family members unintentionally project their expectations on you.

From all that, you probably have scripted yourself in a story that does not serve your soul, who you were created to be.  Keeping up a façade might even create a sense of lack and feelings of sadness, loneliness or despair.

I sure don’t want to add to that “reality.”

How I fell deeply in love with my life

I am a cockeyed optimist with uncommon energy.  This is NOT my natural state, but one I am cultivating.  I choose to BE.

I came across some vision boards I created years ago.  It was so fun to see what dreams I was able to realize.  Jeff and I have traveled to dreamy places, renovated historic homes and lived a somewhat intentional life.

In recent years I switched my vision boards to Pinterest.  I started to pick a word for the year and pin images that helped me focus on the attribute I was cultivating.  I love scrolling through the boards from past years where I focused on living with joy, living wholeheartedly, being fierce and resilient.

For some reason I didn’t choose a word for 2020.  I decided to be future focused and start loving the woman I am becoming.  Wow!  I had no idea where this journey would take me.

The most impactful creative project

Yes, I am a personal growth junkie.  I devour books on the subject and chose a profession that helps others with their personal development.  It’s my life’s work.

So when I discover an incredibly impactful exercise, I just had to share it with you!

The idea came from Dr. Joe Dispenza’s book Becoming Supernatural.  He teaches that you can use the same suggestive messaging that marketers use to actually program your subconscious to believe in a future that is created by you.  You create a commercial for your future self that you’ll watch in the morning and in the evening before you go to bed, the times of the day you are the most suggestible.

I highly recommend reading the book to learn and understand the science behind this concept!  He also adds a Kaleidoscope Meditation to the daily practice.  It’s worth learning about!

Dr. Joe Dispenza promotes a couple who came up with the idea for a visualizing video and their business Mind Movies.  You can download their app and create your own, or create one from a computer program like iMovie.

Your movie is a focus board on steroids, combining images with affirmations and heart moving music!  I call mine a Vision Video.

How to create your Vision Video

First you need to make a list of what you’d like to create in the future.  This might take a couple days.  Really put some thought in it.  This is NOT a time to think small!  Dream big.

Then you will need to think about who you need to BE in order to create your future self.  You will turn this list into affirmations that you will add to the images in your video.

And finally you’ll need to pick the music.  Dr. Dispenza calls this the soundtrack of your life.  Remember, you will be watching this video twice a day.  Make sure you love the music!

I can help you through the process if it feels overwhelming.  Reach out to me for a FREE mini session {link below}

What I learned about my future

I knew this creative project would be easy for me.  I journal everyday and am crystal clear on my dreams.  What I didn’t realize was how my heart would be affected.

It was fun to gather pictures from my past, Pinterest boards and search for ones that would fit.  As I was going through my pictures I realized that above any achievement or material gain, my family and relationships were most important to me.

I have to admit that I cried after I finished editing my video and can honestly say that I am in love with my life.  I love who I’ve been, who I am and my future self… all at the same time.

I can see how my heart, mind and soul will be more connected to my life intentionally the more I watch this video.  I also see that over time I will need to edit the video, and that’s ok too.

Here’s my current Vision Video:

My Vision Video

Do you love your life?

Tiffany Eckhardt, Certified Life Coach

Just say “F’ It”

Tiffany Eckhardt, Certified Life Coach helping midlife women believe their best years are ahead. Learn how to turn an "F' It" moment into a moment of hope!

Are you willing to vulnerably admit that at times of frustration you just want to say “F’ it”?  Yes, I admit that I use the F word on occasion.

For instance, I might say it prior to the third glass of wine, or finishing the cake after the kids went to bed.  Does this happen to just me?

“She realized that vulnerability was easier to wear than vanity.  So she stripped straight down to nothing. And set herself free.”  ~  Cara Alwill Leyba

This week I spent time wondering why the “F’ it” moments happen.

My F’ It Moment

Recently, at a point when my dreams seem to be on the horizon but still so far out of reach, I had a major “F ’it” moment.

I had planned my eating protocol for the day.  I knew I’d be meeting friends at my favorite winery, so I planned one glass of wine.  (famously naive)  At the winery, I had my planned glass of wine and then bought a bottle to take home.  When I got home my plans got railroaded, as if I can blame it on the circumstances, and proceeded to drink the bottle too.  The moment I opened the bottle I recall saying to myself, “Fuck it!” (not abbreviated)

The real reason I had a “F’ it” moment was not my evening circumstances.  Frankly, the real reason I felt the need to “F’ it” was my unrealized dreams weighing heavy on my heart ALL DAY.

The next morning I awoke with the guilt of not honoring my planned protocol, and the familiar shame storm.

I wrote in my journal:  I can’t seem to catch a mystic break.  God, I’m trusting you.  Please lead me to the gold-mine within.

Then I came across another poem…

Surrender

I want to breath in passion like air.  I want to fill my lungs with the magic and lust and possibility only passion brings.  And the feeling that is only available to you when you finally, fully, fiercely surrender.   ~ Cara Alwill Leyba

Faith

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of its absence.  Surrender to the mystery.

Surrendering is actually saying, “F’ it” in a completely different way.  It is breathing in passion like air and saying to yourself, “this just might work!”  What do you actually have to loose when you choose to believe notwithstanding the absence of evidence?

Faith is a powerful emotion that helps you believe your dreams are worth pursuing.

It just might work!

The first “F’ it” has no upside.  It is just a familiar way to approach discouragement that leads to guilt and an inevitable shame storm.  Creative solutions are impossible to discover when your energy is consumed by discouragement.

The second “F’ it” has HUGE upsides.  The thought “what if it works” produces a feeling of hope and leads to massive action.

Here is what I’ve learned about hope this week:

Hope is not an accident.

You cultivated hope by allowing the mystery.

The mystery is a little voice that whispers maybe, when the whole world is shouting no.

This hope is an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.

Hope is the charged emotion that elevates your dreams.

Not forced, but ready to see crazy things happen!

What if you gave up entertaining the thoughts that cause fear and discouragement, the thoughts that lead to lack?

Have compassion on your discouraging thoughts, noticing them without guilt or shame, and then simply release them.

Surrender to the idea that it just might work, and to the mystery of uncommon creativity.

This is my life’s work.

Believing in possibilities and abundance is my super power.  Even when I suffer discouragement, my will to break through will not allow me to wallow in it.  I desire to cultivate a mindset that surrenders to fierce hope.

I am happy to share my journey with you in hopes that it inspires your journey.  As your life coach I will help you to reclaim your life, full of dreams and visions for your best years ahead.

I’d love to work with you to develop a proper “F’ it” mindset.

If you regret a recent “F’ it” moment that produced a shame storm, I know I can help you flip it to a “it just might work” mindset.  I offer a FREE mini session for those of you who are curious about life coaching.

Four things I ditched for an epic MIDLIFE PIVOT!

A midlife pivot is another way of expressing a need to reboot & reclaim your life.  Midlife women experience this urge to pivot as they face an empty nest, COVID downsize, a recent divorce or the anticipation of retirement.  Can you relate?

“There is nothing more powerful or radical or stunningly, radiantly beautiful than a woman who chooses to rebuild her life.  Day after day, hour after hour, no matter how many mistakes she must now spin into gold.”  ~ Cara Alwill Leyba

I’m in the throws of a radical reboot, and love sharing my journey in the hopes that it will inspire more midlife women to choose to reboot, reclaim and rebuild.  In this article I will share four things I recently ditched to lighten my load for the long haul.

1. Fear Porn

A common obstacle for midlife women is fear or worry, even when the scenario rarely turns out as bad as imagined.  Fear is a misuse of our imagination, usually based on past experiences.

Why would you obsess about potential bad?  Could you be addicted to a state of being that drives worry?  Do you honestly believe the emotion of fear or worry has the power to manipulate outcomes?

Protect your energy by projecting what you actually want in the future.  When you feel the emotion of fear or worry, declare to yourself, “I now know what I don’t want.  What I want is…”  Your life will pivot when you reframe worry and even eliminate fear.

I made the decision to eliminate fear porn in March as the world shut down for COVID.  I just knew that a constant barrage of news would not support wellness.  I allowed myself to stay informed, but balanced it with equal amounts of information that encouraged my personal growth.  As a result, I believe I made better use of the past six months, stayed in great health and helped my clients in the process.

2. Smack Talk

Who is your worst enemy?  I hope you answered you.

The chatter continually “talking smack” about you is inside your head.  Wonder how many of the 60,000 thoughts you think on a daily basis are kind thoughts about yourself?  If 90% of your daily thoughts are the same as the day before, it is safe to say that you beat yourself up worse than your worst enemy.

I recently came to terms with the smack talk in my head and moved forward with two actions.

First, I forgave my past self.  I literally journaled an apology to my past self and released her from all guilt and shame concerning parts of my personality I did not appreciate.

Second, I decided to learn the lesson that was being offered.  A pastor once told me a long that lessons not learned will repeat themselves until they are finally learned.  There is so much wisdom in this!  Instead of beating myself up for a failure, mistake or habit, I seek the lesson.  I thank the lesson and love the opportunity for growth, and then release it.

Your life will pivot when you manage the smack talk.  This will give you so much compassion for your past self.  I encourage you to spend time thanking her for both the good and bad decisions.

3. Approval of others

What other people think about you is none of your business.

What if you could reduce the amount of energy you spent on the approval of others by developing a relationship with your past, present and future self?  My REBOOT & RECLAIM coaching package uses a three step process that allows you to truly love who you are.  You learn that you are worthy and lovable, because you decide to believe it.

Look, I spent my whole life looking for the approval of others.  Oh the mind games we play!  I was left thinking life was a popularity contest I could never win.

Even though it has taken me fifty years, I am grateful that I have learned to honor my past decisions, live in the present and create a future.  I love the woman I am becoming.

Your life will pivot when you believe your best years are ahead and decide the approval of others is unnecessary.

4. The How

“Logic will get you from A to B.  Imagination will take you everywhere.”  ~Albert Einstein

I know you like to have all your ducks in a row before you pursue your dream.  What if knowing how to get from A to B limits your ability to achieve your dream?

The blessings in life unfold as a mystery when you focus your energy on visualization.  What does the dream look like and how will you feel when you achieve it.  Experts agree that when you add charged emotions to your desires, you open yourself up to uncommon creativity.  The easiest way to create the future you want is to become the kind of person who creates the result.

Your life will pivot when you focus on who you need to become to create the life you want.  The how takes care of itself and makes you unstoppable.

REBOOT & RECLAIM

REBOOT & RECLAIM WITH TIFFANY ECKHARDT, CERTIFIED LIFE COACH. Tiffany helps midlife women believe their best years are ahead.

Reboot & Reclaim Your Life!

Every fall I develop a deep desire to end the year strong.  Rebooting near the end of a year eases the stress of the holidays and sets up a new year for success.  Rebooting also feels akin to reclaiming my life by refocusing on the dreams I refuse to give up on.

Can we all agree 2020 sucked socks?  No matter how you look at it, this year has broken all norms.

This year’s REBOOT has taken on a deeper meaning for me, more than just an adjustment or refocus, but a reclamation.

Reclaim

That year inspired me to incorporate a yearly reboot into my life.  This year I realize that I have learned valuable lessons to successfully navigate life no matter what a chaotic world throws at me.

How is it possible that I have a daughter about to turn thirty years old?

When you are living life on autopilot you miss the mysteries of life.   I believe we are more than our bodies, or society’s programming.  We are energy, soul, mind and spirit.  In a moment of awareness, you notice whispers of creativity longing to be acknowledged.

Render

I believe your best years are ahead!  You have the power to create your future, to render your masterpiece.

The key to create your future is to get in touch with your future self.  This requires imagination.  What does she look like?  How does she spend her time?  Who is she surrounding herself with?

This is my favorite step of the Three Steps to Reboot.  Once you reframe your past (or a crazy year), connect with your present, you are free to reclaim the life you wish to create.

Join me

If you hang out with me for too long, I’ll convince you that your best years are ahead.

Living Vicariously

Tiffany Eckhardt, Certified Life Coach helping women live vicariously through their future self

By definition, living vicariously is imagining life through other people’s experiences.  You may have lived vicariously through your children, pictures of a friend’s vacation, or someone you admire.

When I went on picking trips for my antique store I frequently had women tell me they were living vicariously through me.  While I was honored they followed my adventures, I always hoped to inspire them to fly free on their own journeys.

I recently lived vicariously through my friend Michele, who treated herself to a resort vacation at Miraval Resort in Austin, Texas.  I was envious of the royal treatment she received at this luxuriously tranquil retreat.  Michele cast a dream for me that I didn’t realize my soul was longing for.

Let me cast a dream for you

What if the next fifty years were totally directed by you?

Well, it is NOT impossible if you step away from life on autopilot and the expectations of others.

It starts with a little imagination.  Think of your life as the ultimate Pinterest board.  What interesting things do you want to learn?  Where would you live and travel to?  Who would you surround yourself with?  Who do you want to be?

Can you picture it yet?

Where focus goes, energy flows.

Most people focus their energy on the past.  They make decisions and predict their future based on what has happened (or did not happen) in the past.  The energy it takes to rehearse the past is very low and familiar.

“How much creative energy is tied up in guilt, hatred, resentment, lack or fear?  The truth is that you could be using all that energy to re-create a new destiny,”  Dr. Joe Dispenza.

I teach my clients to process their past, but become future focused.

Your Future self will be proud

What if you lived vicariously through your future self?

You don’t have to look enviously to others.  Create a vision for yourself in your imagination.

What will she appreciate that you dreamed up for her?

First create your ultimate Pinterest life, then consider how the experience will feel; empowered, fortunate, free, blissful, authentic, carefree, calm, easy, expansive, mindful…

The more energy you can attach to your future self, the more intimate you become with your future.

Is your view of reality limited?

The mind is a powerful thing.

As you fill your mind with thoughts and add energy to the ideas, you actually experience the vision as if it were in real time.  The mind simply doesn’t know the difference between reality and fantasy.

Have you ever experienced a physical reaction to a thought?  For instance, when I think about meals I had in Italy, my mouth starts watering.

Living Vicariously through your future self.

What happens when you unlock creativity by rehearsing the future you want in your mind?  The skills you need to thrive in the future will become important to develop.  Your future self’s opinion of your current choices suddenly matter.   Unexpected opportunities present themselves in a new awareness.

Do you need a guide?

Have you caught yourself living vicariously through someone lately?  What is stopping you from living your dream life?

I work with midlife women who want to believe their best years are ahead.  Learning to live with your future self in mind is a big part of creating that life you’ve always wanted.

I’d love to help you activate your imagination and manage your mind to direct your next fifty years!
